Argan oil, known as Moroccan oil or Moroccan Gold, is one of the world's rarest oils. It comes from the nuts of an ancient argan tree, which grows only between the Moroccan seaside cities Essaouira and Agadir and is hard to cultivate elsewhere. 

An Argan tree can grow up to ten meters tall and live for over 200 years. Surprisingly it does not need a lot of care - Mother Nature provides a semi-arid Moroccan soil to thrive on it. 

These slow-growing species are fiercely spiny. This is how they protect their almond-shaped nuts. Inside each of those nuts nestle 1 to 3 small kernels. These precious kernels yield an oil that is claimed to be the rarest and most expensive oil in the world.

Argan oil can be two types. Edible, which is great for keeping your heart healthy and cholesterol level down;

and cosmetic, which has an outstanding moisturizing, regenerating, and nourishing ability for skin, hair and even nails.
